Magnus Yu – Animator △ Technical Director

About Me

I started off working as 3d generalist then later specialized as an animator. My first experience in animation led me to Singapore which I was working on TV animated series. Later on I got an opportunity to work in games at Ubisoft; that I surprisingly enjoyed a lot. I learned a lot of things like how to use motion capture data, game engine, time management, gameplay animation and cinematics.

Afterwards I got to explored working in film at Weta; the experience was trial by fire, had to learn new software to animate and most of the time was spent either reading documentation, trying things out or asking peers. The rest was trying to learn through animating shots and figuring out my workflow while trying to be efficient delivering high quality realistic animation. I always try to incorporate what I learn to work smarter and faster.

The challenges I encoutered, the people I met and got to work with helps me become the person I am today.
